“The word was made Flesh and dwelt among us.”


Archbishop Socrates B. Villegas, who most people fondly call Father Soc, was ordained a priest of the Roman Catholic Church at the age of 25. He was appointed Bishop in 2001, and is currently the Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan in Pangasinan. 

In the secular field, he was one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines (TOYM) in the year 2000 and a Catholic Authors Awardee in 1994. The Bataan Peninsula State University conferred upon him a Doctor of Humanities degree “Honoris Causa” in recognition of his work for the Province of Bataan. He authored nine books of homilies and spiritual meditations.

Fr. Soc is well-known for his eloquent and charismatic homilies and talks which has brought inspiration and hope to many.
